Dear scot47,
"My computer is misbehaving."
You may have avoided it, but clearly someone gave your computer the Evil Eye (of course, if you're using a PC with Windows, well, the Evil Eye is part of the package.)
Regards,
MacJohn |

There is a fine line between the belief in evil eye and superstition. As the article mentions, Islam does recognise it but it also encourages people to put their trust in their Creator.
This issue is HUGE in the subcontinent. The Arabs have nothing on those people! |

Is Arab News the primary source for news in Saudi Arabia for English speaking folk or can we get news from another paper?
Are the western papers readily available in Saudi? |

Arab News and Saudi Gazette are the only 2 local newspapers in English. Arab News has very good coverage of international news. SG also has international news, but the coverage isn't as good as that of AN. SG does a better job with local news.
You can find international papers in supermarkets and hotels, but they are quite expensive. If you want to spend SR. 500/month on newspapers, go for it!
I just get my news from news websites and from the BBC, CNN, and Sky channels on TV.
Here is the article scot47 is talking about:

Just for the record, I'd like to proclaim that I am not a witch (and Christine O'Donnell will vouch for me on that.)

I take care not to socialise with sorcerers and necromancers. |

I'll bet old episodes of "Bewitched" would be a big hit in Saudi. Of course, it'd be a documentary series, rather than a comedy, there.

I hear that Apple is soon bringing out a software package where you can send bad wishes to people you don't like, through modern technology.
It's called "evil-i"
