Does anyone know the cheapest way to move? I don't have much stuff(I live in a 6 mat mansion). I'm thinking about calling a moving company or sending everything piece by piece through a delivery company.

the cheapest way is to mail stuff at the post office.
Or to rent a truck, van or car and DIY. I rented a van when I moved last month. I think it was from a company called Nippon Rent - a - Car. I rented it for six hours and paid about 11,000 yen.

There are different ways to move your stuff. One guy I worked with will have a big box (a meter high) sent by Takubin from Tokyo to Kanazawa. It will cost about 28,000 yen.

When my girlfriend moved, she paid a lot (from Osaka to Kanagawa). I think more than 100,000 yen.
If the movers had suplied the boxes and packed the stuff, it would have cost even more. You can even pay for movers to clean your old apartment. Needless to say, it 's cheaper to DIY.
I forgot the name of the company but there is a panda face on their trucks
and they are from Sakai shi in Osaka Fu.
But the movers did a good job. But they were kind of crazy. They drove one night from Osaka to Kanagawa (because of less traffic), then slept. Then came over to my place in the evening and were done in a little over an hour. They taped the walls with this thin foam to prevent them from leaving marks on the walls. After they finished they drove up to Fukuhima, so they would be ready to deliver the rest of the stuff. After they delivered the rest of the stuff in the truck they drove back to Osaka.
The problem with the moving company is that my girlfriend had to wait for someone else who wanted stuff delivered to either Kanto or southern Tohoku, because although she had a lot of stuff (100 boxes I kid you not), they wanted to wait until the truck was almost full before heading out to Kanagawa Ken.
The moving company came a day or two earlier than we were told.
