No help, but I need to know this too.

I'm guessing any clinic or doctor's surgery though.

Get vaccinations from a Western clinic such as Family Medical or SOS. Yes, it's a lot more expensive, but you're paying for Western made vaccines that have been stored properly. There have been a number of high profile vaccine problems around Asia because of improper storage leading to ineffectiveness of vaccine (particularly rabies vaccine failure resulting in deaths), and there are other quality issues. A Western doc will also not give you shots you don't need.

I recently got all my shots from Family Medical Practice in Diamond Plaza. It is a bit pricier there but it's probably the nicest clinic in town.

Here's a piece of advice that I wish someone had given me:

I don't know if you're insured or not, but I recently got a basic (catastrophic illness) health insurance plan here. It is cheap compared to what I'd pay in the states. There are like 3 levels on most of these plans, you pay a little more and you get a little more. If I had signed up for the 2nd level, which includes all vaccinations at no charge, this would have paid for itself.

SO... if you're not insured already, look into getting one of the nicer plans that includes vacs before you actually go get your shots. This way you have more coverage AND you end up paying less all around.

sonbuenas2 - your post is very timely for me as well. i have a booster coming up in march and that info helps lots. now, to hijack the OP - if you don't mind sharing, from whom did you get your local health insurance and can you suggest any starting references for locating an insurer?

Yes and yes.

I got my plan through Liberty health insurance. It cost about 5.5 Million VND a year.

I found that plan through an insurance agent that I highly recommend, IF consulting. www.insuranceinvietnam.com

Guy who runs the place is named Pascal. Pay him a visit and he will sort it all out for you. Office is on the end of Ha Bai Trung right near the water. He doesn't charge you anything (makes his money through client referrals) and will help you get the best deal.

Hope this helps.
