This is a movie where a woman (Renee Zellweger) writes a book that tells women they don't need love... chocolate can satisfy them far better than any man! But is it true? Can someone be asexual?

If you could pick, would you say "Down with love!" or "Voulez-Vous Coucher avec Moi, Ce soir...?"

being a hopeless romantic with a little French blood in me, I would have to say Love rules...
One the other hand, there is no denying the appeal of "voulez-vous coucher avec moi ce soir?" Wink

as the old wise man used to say: "whatever floats your boat.." Very Happy Very Happy Cool

Dear Sara Avalon,
Love OR chocolate? Down with such a Hobson's choice, I say. I'll take - and actually have - BOTH!
Regards,
John

Okay John... let me rephrase. How about:

You're in hot water. You're going to be sent to a desert island where no human being will ever find you or be allowed to drag your carcass back to civilization. Your captors do give you the option of a lifetime supply of chocolate or a cheerful, always "ready and willing" femme fatale. Which do you pick to take with you?

Dear Sara Avalon,
Ah, but now you've narrowed it down, I'd say, to a choice between LUST and CHOCOLATE:

". . . or a cheerful, always "ready and willing" femme fatale."

If LOVE'S not an option, I'll go with the lifetime supply of chocolate ( Ah, M&M peanut butter filled, please). After all, femme fatales (hmm, guess that should be "femmes fatale") eventually lose their "fatale", but chocolate goes on forever.
BUT - if LOVE is the other "desert island" choice, then it's definitely, " Bye-bye M&Ms".
Regards,
John

(Ahem) - call me mad, but I don't actually like chocolate very much.

Give me a guitar on the island over Britney Spears any day. This is still for shallow reasons, I'd get bored of Britney quicker than I would a guitar.

Some have ventured that love is ( Shocked ) the whole point of living. The argument goes that it is much easier to make someone else happy than it is yourself. So, you find a partner who you make happy and, in the process, it cheers you up as well. It's tricky to be happy and alone (yeah ok boys - I know what you're thinking Wink. Over a sustained period of time!)

To be honest, though, I haven't really found it works like that for me. I've never been in an intensive relationship, and have certainly never "loved" someone in a romantic context. My current girlfriend is a bit like a friend that I sleep with - as I am to her. Still, I am 23, plenty of time for all that nonsense later! Smile

Your honor,

I want to enter a new plea in light of new evidence introduced by one Sara Avalon:

I will take Britney and a guitar to a desert island over the lifetime supply of chocolate. I'll play guitar and Britney would sing....... Laughing Laughing Cool

Remember that film "Castaway", the one with Amanda Donahoe and Ollie Reed, not Tom Hanks? Wouldn't fancy being stuck with him and his scabby feet.
But I still voted love, cos I think the chocolate would melt, and I like to believe in romance.

Dear khmerhit,
And does anyone think they COULD talk to Britney Spears? I'd give them, say, a week or two before the idea of justifiable homicide started to seem very appealing.
Regards,
John

If you go with the chocolate, you are eventually going to get really darn sick of it after having it everyday. The same goes for the cheerful, always "ready and willing" femme fatale! Any relationships that I have had in the past based purely on physical attraction were very exciting for a short time, but fizzled out very quickly. Variety is the spice of life, so that's why I build a boat and set sail for the mainland. That's the great thing about life, no matter how dire the situation, you always have more options if you are willing to take some chances.

Cheers,
Kirk

And a P.S. for leeroy: There is no better aphrodisiac than being in love. Trust me...you will never reach those heights with someone who is just a "friend". Don't knock this love "nonsense" until you've tried it. Wink
