|
|
I just moved here two weeks ago and started work, and I'm living in a hotel at the moment. I need to find somewhere to live more permanently, ideally sharing with other English speakers in a place quite close to the park called Cng vin L Văn Tm on street V Thị Su, at the top of where district 1 borders district 3.
I know about craigslist and I plan to ask about at the school where I work but does anybody know about any other English language websites or forums that might help? Or know anybody with a spare room in that approximate area?
Thanks everyone. |

Hi Oliver,
You might find something on www.expat-blog.com
I'll be arriving in town on the 23rd, so send me a PM if you are considering getting your own place.
Best,

Just curious.
Why do you want to have roomates, as opposed to your own apartment?
Why near the park? |

I'd prefer to share a house rather than have one to myself for the sake of having some company and getting to know more people and also to save money.
Near to that park because it's near where I work - I would prefer to live within walking distance. |

Sira,
I had a look on that site and joined and posted a message (why is there two boards for the same city?! got to cause confusion). Are you hoping to get your own place sorted by the 23rd or are you going to get a hotel first? And do you know where you're working yet or what area you want to be based in? |

Hi Oliver,
I'm glad you got things sorted out on the other site, though I hadn't realized there were two boards for HCMC, so thanks for the tip. I'll be working in the Tan Binh district, and I'm scheduled to stay at a hotel for a few days. I don't know the city so I can't say where I want to live; still I'd like to live in a neighborhood that tends not to flood during the rains, and that's no more than 25 minutes by motorbike from the Tan Binh area. Oh, and nice, chill, clean roommates What are you looking for in terms of roommates? Are you looking at house shares or flat shares?
Ciao!

Accomodation tends to be one of the problems of Vietnam. Extortionate "foreigner" prices, low selection. Not that it's impossible to find, but it is a headache. |

If you're still looking, then our house has a couple of free rooms from $200/mth. Its about 2 mins from Vo Thi Sau near where Ly Chinh Thang and Hai Ba Trung meet.
Feel free to message me if you are interested. |
