|
|
Hello,
I will be arriving in Hong Kong in April next year with following TEFL credentials:
* Native White British English speaker with neutral accent
* BA Hons Degree (Not in English)
* 4 years asia TEFL experience with all ages and school types
* 20 Hour non-online TEFL certificate from I-to-I
I have heard it will be easier to find a TEFL job by being present in Hong Kong for interviews, etc.
I am wondering what will be the best method of finding potential jobs after arriving in HK (I know it's not a good idea to do this from the most legal standpoint, but I gather many people do this).
So, does anyone have any suggestions? It seems there is little on DavesESL by way of job advertisements.
Many thanks. |

I think most jobs would be under 20K monthly, maybe even 15K without more qualifications.
Being present will make interviews easier, but SCMP -South China Morning Post at http://www.classifiedpost.com/ is main source of finding jobs and can be done before coming. Can also try www.tefl.com
HK's expensive to hang around without a job and then to sort out a work visa. Then again, some people have, I just don't fancy trying it. |

Similarly, I'm looking for work, I have 1 years experience and CELTA (well I'll be finished next week)
I'll be sending my c.v to a number of school in the links posted above once I finished my CELTA I was just wondering if anyone knows any particular school it may be worth contacting? |
