my wife and I are thinking of applying for positions at Qatar Aeronautical College and would like some information.
1. How is the college's academic calendar organised (is it two semesters with a long summer break)?
2. Does the institution provide school fees for children (I have one child)?
3. From previous messages it appears that the students are willing and pleasant, is that still the case?
4. What are the college's facilities like? Have they moved to new premises which was rumoured in previous threads?
5. What is typical accommodation like?
6. How are the management viewed?
The website is pretty thin so I'm looking for a bit of help.
Many thanks,

I worked here for a short while. The lady then in charge, Pam, was very nice and fair minded. Housing is adequate, apartments are better than Gulag apartments but the salary is very low. This is what makes most people quit although they would like to stay on. The students are okay, some are dim and some are bright. The bright ones make it worthwhile. Some of the admin people need to keep their priorities straight. I'd rate this place a 8/10 for most things but 5/10 for salary and cost of living. |

I'd agree with these comments. A nice place to work. I worked here on a part-time basis myself. |

apparently much better than before but I don't think they are hiring people. |

Corrected - they need at least 2 or 3 new teachers to deal with the unexpected intake but housing and hiring problems. Salary is also low - only about 11,000 - not much for such an expensive country. |

Salaries after last year's pay award were higher than QR.11,000 at the QAC...
Today the discussion would be in the QR.13,000 - QR.15,000 range. |
