As the school year winds down for many of us, I was wondering what people are going to do during the break? I am actually done with most of my classes by the end of November so have a rather long break, so am going to do a bit of travelling. First, 5 days in Cuba, then a couple of weeks in the US, then a couple of as yet to be decided trips within Mexico. |

Going home to Canada to introduce the little one to snow, Santa, and TSA scanners.
I was going to go to Cuba again too, but the family back home insisted I bring their granddaughter home for the holidays. |

I hate snow more than almost anything I can think of, but children seem to be fascinated with it for some reason, so that will be fun for her. There are some great deals on packages for Cuba right now, so I couldnt resist. Any suggestions on places to go to do in Mexico, any place you especially liked? |

Describe the deals you've seen for Cuba..I didn't get to that stage of planning but was going to check with an agency called Havanatur. When I went last about 4 years ago, 6000 pesos got the flight, 7 nights at 2 star hotels in Varadero and Havana, and meals.
For Mexico, there's a beach I like just north of Zihua called Troncones. Not very large, very few people around, so great for beach camping. |

There are a couple that are $400 US for flight, 4 days in a hotel, breakfast, and tranfer, in Havana. Another is $600 US, 3 days in Havana, 3 days in Varadera, fllight, transfers, breakfast in Havana, all inclusive in Varadero. There are some other variations, more days in Varadero, more days in Havana, etc, but those are pretty much in line with these prices.
The place you mentioned sounds good, just the kind of thing I like, Ill have to look at it. |
