No official dress code where I work, but I just go smart casual. |

Decent jeans are fine where I work.
-blouses
-button down shirts
-turtle necks
-sweaters-prefer button down or zip ones that can be removed when entering a hot as hell building-usually wear a light shirt or turtleneck under the removable sewater
-skirts (leggings underneath when chilly)
-dresses/sweater dresses also w/ said leggings underneath when chilly
-decent pants or jeans
footwear- MUST be comfy and MUST be able to wear my orthotics therefore-
summer-closed toed DMs (I'm a marathoner my toes should never be seen in public)
spring/fall- short DMs or ECKO leather shoes-black
fall winter -mud season up the calf DMs to protect my pants
winter when it's butt cold- full length UGGs |

Some schools would not want jeans. Smart but not formal for most general English classes (to spell it out: shoes and socks in winter, trousers and a long-sleeved shirt. Sorry I can't comment on women's attire.) If attending a business, especially if you're getting decent pay for it, you might consider a tie, but in general ties are not de rigueur. |

Though there is no common dress code for ESL teachers in Russia you should stay within reasonable bounds. I'd advise you to discuss your attire with your employer. |

Agreed. Perhaps one of the questions to ask at the interview. |

Also good to observe how students dress at various firms. Luckily for me it's not super duper formal. |

Jeans and a collared shirt are fine for most general english classes.
If you're teaching in-company, wear business attire for the first day, and then ask your representative what the expectations are when you get there. |
