Ok, I've got a lame newbie question: I've just started applying for jobs in South Korea and i've been told I need to get my degree certificate with apostille. What does this mean and how exactly do I do it? Do I need to contact my University or the government or something? I have no idea! Just googled it and it kinda confused me! (I'm from the UK by the way)

You need to look on the Korean jobs forums for Korea specific answers.

The process is well documented there.
Separate registration is required to post in those forums. You can however browse to find your answer without the need to register.

In the meantime, the short answer (for other Americans who require an apostille (legalization of a document for use abroad)) is:

Get a copy of the document (usually a photocopy or reprinted scan is fine).
Have a notary certify that it is a true copy of the original.
Take (or send) that to the secretary of state (for the state in which you live) and have the apostille affixed.

The process is slightly different for other countries (notary and FCO for those in the UK as an example).

.

Bad news for you then. If you're from the UK you're going to have to spend a couple hundred quid to get it done. Has to be done at a solictor's. Ditto what the above poster says, check the Korean forum
