|
|
Hello,
I was wondering if somebody would be able to indicate to me how good my chances are of getting a PNET position?
I am a 26 year old Irish male currently finishing a Bachelor of Arts degree in Behavioural Studies from Aberdeen University which i will have in June 2010. I have a weekend tefl certificate and also 6 months expereicence of teaching primary school tefl English in Thailand. I will be applying to start a PNET position in August/September 2011.
Do I have any hope for a PNET position? I hear that the compitition is tough but I also feel that I would be a good candidate.
Also, if I was not to get a PNET position, what kind of position would I be able to get otherwise and what kind of pay would I be looking at? Are there any other good places apart from this website that have listings of jobs available?
I would really appreciate any feedback. Cheers!

For PNET you would improve your chances hugely if you get QTS. Without it, you're still in with a chance but I couldn't say exactly - there are some PNETs without QTS.
Outside the NET prog you're mostly looking at private language schools, salary ranging from HK$12-20K per month. |

Yea i thought it might be tricky to get a net position. Anyways, i'll give it a shot!
Thanks for the reply. Do you know some good places on the net advertising teaching positions? All the links on this seem to have expired.Maybe its just my computer.
Aswell, i was wondering is it more common for people to secure a teaching position before they go to Hong Kong or do people just move there and see what they can get? |
