|
|
I replied to a job ad on here, and 1 week later recieved an email offering me the position. They have my resume, cover letter, letter of rec and recent photo so they know my background and experience (they never called to verify references though). When I emailed back asking for a chance to talk and ask questions about the job, the response was from the current English teacher at the school saying that it wasn't uncommon in HK for schools to hire experienced teachers without an interview, but that she would be happy to answer any ?'s I had through email. The school seems legit in that it has a website. The fact that they want to hire me even though they've never even heard me speak or checked out my references makes me suspicious. Is this common in hong kong? |

Which school is it? Having a website doesn't mean too much. Pretty easy to put one up. |

Yeah, I would be worried if this were the case. They obviously don't care too much who they employ. I mean, you may be a great candidtate for the job and you probably are, however they don't know that.
To just hire someone without even meeting them in person or giving them an interview is also highly unprofessional. It kinda speaks for itself really.
Anyways, did you take it?
Good luck
