Instructor of English? Would this be for the university's foundation programme (UGRU)? |

Is your husband working in Al-Ain? As I recall you are on his visa and have an MA and a few years of teaching, so I suspect that this is for a TEFL position.
If you haven't done it already, do a search for UGRU. The situation there could be very difficult/uncomfortable at the moment with lots of unhappy people worrying whether they will have a job after this year and bitter about the process. It has been a good position for many years, but it is likely to only be for a couple years as they wind the program down...

Hard to beleive they are hiring anyone in the current climate unless the HCT-Partnership fails. While word from Fujerah is it isn't going well (i.e. students/teachers unhappy; over 100 leaving the program to go to Univ of Sharjah; families complaing to the Sheikh etc.), there is no official word. As such, we are actually expecting 60 or so jobs to get cut. Why they are hiring right now is baffling unless they know something we don't... |

Did a large number of teachers bail at the end of last year due to the situation? Perhaps they are short of teachers for current classes and easier to fill it with an adjunct than to push already unhappy staff to cover it?

Have heard that one soul did a runner from the EFL program in HCT Fujairah. Too much stress, 25 students per class, etc. etc. Of course, that means those left would have had to pick up the slack or hire adjuncts - so poorly managed and administered cycle continues ... |

No, to teach EFL you need the related Master's and post grad experience usually.
In content, they are looking for a related Master's to the program and related industry experience.
Exceptions have been made in both areas but that's the premise.
Generally, content positions are considered better in that they don't usually have so many bloody stupid time consuming meetings that seem to be more of a "head count" exercise (making sure you're in the building) rather than a productive activity. Again there are exceptions depending on supervisors and campuses etc. |

And at places like AUS and probably UAEU, to teach content, you need a PhD.
