Does anyone know of a good place to buy toys in Mexico City? A large store like Toys Я Us or KB Toys

This time of year the regular walmart types fill up with toys. Usually doubling or tripling their normal stock.

And that's about all. As far as I know, there are no Toys Я Us- type stores in Mexico.

As far as I know Wal-Mart, Comercial Mexicana, Soriana, Sears, Liverpool, and Sanborns all have toy sections.

Also there is the Mexican chain of toy stores, Merceria del Refugio:

Also, in downtown Mexico City, near Santo Domingo there is an area where a huge street market of toys springs up and there are various small toy shops (in the same area) as well.

Don't encourage them.

Mercado Sonora has a huge toy store next to it, and the mercado itself has a lot of toy vendors. Sonora is somewhat close to metro Fray Servando.

With Mexican children receiving presents from both Santa Claus and the Reyes Magos, no wonder there are so many places to buy toys in Mexico City this time of year!

I went by Sanborn's at the Angel today and saw quite a few Disney stuffed animals, Silence. No Goofys I'm afraid but they had just about every other Disney character. I found it pricey at 250 pesos for a 10 inch tall Pluto.

You might get lucky at some other Sanborn's though.

After days of searching through Mexico City, I did manage to find Goofy. It was in the toy department of El Palacio de Hierro. I was with the person that was to receive it at the time, so I waited 2 days then returned alone and to find only 2 left in the store. Thanks to everyone that helped.
