I try not to be easily offended, but...

I agree! Dreadful to see these outposts of imperialism desecrating the Glorious Motherland. And using swear words too!

Hi Sasha. I just knew you'd be the first, and perhaps the only to reply to this post. Sometimes I think you and John Slat (and Dave himself) are the only one's on this forum anymore. It's Scary! (Yes, I forgot him).

I just meant that it is just too droll and unimaginative. I think some 'cool' young Russian entrepreneur decided to open a school and thinks he is very witty calling it The Blah Blah Blah Club. I wouldn't worked there if they paid me! I wish I had a vomiting smiley to put here.

Some language school names just simply wouldn't enhance one's CV. I heard of one in Italy called 'Debbie's School of English.' Gag.

Lots of the Asian ones are too-too as well (Peppy Kids, for example)......

I'd turn down a job at such a place just to keep the blot off my record!!

I dunno, Spiral. Saying you perfected your teaching skills in 'Ho ho ho School would surely make your CV stand out! : )

(That's 'ho' is the 'lady of the night' sense. But the more conventional word for this is on the naughty list.)

Well, Sasha, if we assume that professionals in most/all fields these days need proficient English to maximise their job and earnings potential.....perhaps it's a niche market that could be legitimately added to the client roles of some proactive language school Very Happy

Personally, I'd rather teach adult professionals of any stripe than peppy kids anyday!

Spiral this is very true, and the mind boggles at the implication all this would have for syllabus design. However, as the Great Leader Khrushchev said, there are no professionals of this nature in Russia - just extremely talented amateurs!

I'd have applied to Debbie's school, being a red-blooded, high-spirited nitwit.

Though, it has to be said that these schools take some beating: http://www.oddee.com/item_97530.aspx

I'd apply to tiny *beep*, but I think I may be too large to be eligible.
