Hi,

I'm giving serious thought to moving to Santander next September and wanted to know if anybody had any information, good or bad, about the schools in the city?

Many thanks

Really? Nothing?!
Come on folks, some of you must have at least driven through Santander from the ferry. Any thoughts on the city would be welcome.

I like Santander and the whole coastline is breathtaking. Seems like a good place to settle for a while, but bit cold and rainy at times. I have noticed a few schools advertising on a particular website (I don't think we're supposed to link it, but you can probably guess the one) from time to time. Seemed like standard deals. Try emailing some schools directly and ask if they need a teacher. I would have no hesitation in working in that city. It might be a little bland, but there is water and brilliant surrounds. Haven't seen anyone post from that city.

I'd agree with Insubordination's advice to email, and you might also try hitting the Yellow Pages ("Paginas Amarillas") and phoning schools directly to talk to their Directors of Studies: you may increase your chances of a quick reply that way.

I've never lived there, but the students I've had who are originally from there say it's a great city, though very damp and chilly a lot of the time.
