Hey everyone!

I got a job offer from Atlantic International School in Moscow, Russia. For the most part the school's offer looks fantastic. However I haven't seen or heard anything about the school and how legitimate they are and whether it is a healthy school environment to work in. I am also aware that there is a great deal of corruption in Russia, even in the police force. I wanted the opinion of some foreigners who live or have lived there and if Russia is a good place to work and live in. If I do work and live there what kind of precautions should I take? I am a single female and safety and having a healthy work environment is my primary concern.

Here are the job details:

It is a full time work and the contract is at least for one year. There is a small number of children in each class (between 5-12 children). British national curriculum is followed. Classes range from year 1 to year 11. Kindergarten position is also possible. Working hours is from 8.30 am till 4.30 am. You have to be at school during this period , no matter how many classes you have during the day. Number of classes per week is between 20 to 30. It depends on the timetable.

School year is divided into 4 quarters. At the end of each quarter we have a week holiday and at the and of the last quarter there is a summer holiday between 01.06.2010- 30.08.2010. Summer holiday for teachers is 56 days. All holidays are paid. Once a year your return ticket to your home country is covered. Accommodation provided.

Please I need some other information about you and your family. One other thing we have to make clear is that some teachers who come to Russia want to do some religious mission work there. It is absolutely not allowed her in our school as it is a secular school. Please be as frankly as possible about those questions above. Please also write your salary expectation. Our salary range is between 2500$-3000$ per month. I also wonder if you smoke or drink? If you think that it is acceptable we have to arrange an online interview first and start the working visa process sooner which takes at least two weeks to get. Please also attach a couple of your photos and CV. Thank you for your understanding in advance. You may find more information about school at www.atlanticschool.ru

Also does anyone know what it is like being a vegetarian in Moscow?
