Anybody know where I can find either Louisiana Hot Sauce or Crystal Hot Sauce, both made down on the bayou in Louisiana, USA?

Need some for my hot wings!

(How does this relate to EFL? I want to show some Ss that in the US we have many different culinary traditions and some are hot n' spicy!)

HEB have a good range of those sauces but I don't think there's one in Mexico City.

Great topic! Been hoping for this to come up. This thread on sauces is a great chance for me to bring up salaries here in Mexico, the lack of violence, and to talk about all my investments! Laughing

Sorry for hijacking this guys, just wanted to fit in, as everyone, successful as they are in the ESL field, cant seem capable of staying on topic in the other threads. For a group of language pros its pretty pathetic that few of us are capable of keeping things pertinent. Embarassed

Happy Holidays to all you Davers out there Very Happy

On a language school salary you'd probably have to make your own...

Now let's debate buying the ingredients in Wal-Mart vs. the local mercado Razz

I am a part of a hot sauce making community cooperative. We hire drifter backpacker foreigners to crush the chiles by hand in their free time between teaching ESL classes. They seem quite pleased to do the work as, in lieu of monetary compensation, they are given a 250 ml bottle of salsa every week. The money they save in salsa purchases goes toward their 401K / RRSP contributions back home! Win - win!

At the cooperative, we understand this work is not for everyone. This is an entry level position for people fresh out of their GCFO ( Grinder of Chile as a Foreign Occupation) certificate course, hence our rather poor compensation scheme. However it is possible to move up the ladder in our organisation; Serrano, Chipotle, and Jalepeo Master Grinder courses are offered for those interested in rising to the top of the spice rack, for a substancial fee of course, but they are well worth it if one is serious about professional development.

Serously though, Superama or HEB would be your best bets, mayble Costco or Sam's if you have a membership.
