I am trying to answer an application question and was not sure what angle to approach it from. Any recommendations?
What is special about the learning of language ?
Thank you! |

If you have never taught, you will find the answer hard.
If you have never studied a foreign language, it will be equally hard.
How about the angle of providing your own interpretation? That's what they want.
Give it a shot. There is no right or wrong answer. Put yourself in a student's position. |

Like the previous poster said, of course it should be your own angle, however since you want to be a teacher I would focus on your thoughts regarding the new lines of communication and experiences learning a new language provides. You want to make it clear that you understand learning a foreign language is a great benefit to someone's personal and future professional life and that learning a new language is also FUN! If you have any personal experiences learning a new language I would make sure you communicate that. Good luck!! |

Thank you. I have had trouble thinking clearly the past few days due to my hectic work schedule, and have had trouble recognizing even what is obvious!
That sounds like a great idea, going at it from my experience studying Japanese and all the possible benefits. |
