I find it odd that you accepted an offer without bringing up these critical questions with your interviewer or contact person. Frankly, that's who you should direct your questions to specific to your situation.

actually for the teaching load the interviewer said it is between 18-25 teaching hours. regarding the pay the interviewer said it's an HR question. I want to gather more details from the people who are working there.

You've accepted an offer without knowing the pay in advance? That's OVERLY optimistic!

One of the problems is that there are very few adjuncts and thus even fewer of them are members here on Dave's. So, I don't know that we have any posters that have any idea of the answers to your questions.

NS and Spiral (and me) are answering from the viewpoint of a foreign hire contract teacher.

Here's my take as to your concerns... if you have a residence visa through your family providing housing... and you would like to get some income, I would assume that HCT pay would be decent and certainly better than the local language schools. Other than that, it gives you a foot in the door to check out the organization to possibly get a future position with them OR it could convince you that you wouldn't want to ever be completely in their clutches. Laughing An advantage of being an adjunct is that normally you only need to be there for your teaching hours, some office hours, and are exempt from all their committees and endless meetings.

Plus... it would be a nice addition to your CV. (be sure to get a letter of employment at the end of any work with them which confirms your work hours. Over 15 should be considered full-time with your next employer.
