Hey guys- I'm looking into teaching in VN in the next couple of years, and I have some questions regarding the differences in cities and towns. I have heard that the climate can vary greatly from North to South, and want to get some input from people who actually live and have lived there, instead of just reading dry information from websites.

So, here are my questions:
1) Where do you live (city, town, or region)?
2) What is the climate like? Is it always hot, or is there a cool season?
3) Are you coastal? If yes, how are the beaches?
4) What is the food selection like? Are there always tons of fruits and veggies available, or do you have seasons with just potatoes and onions? Is there any foreign food to be found?
5) What is the typical rent range?
6) How friendly are people? Vietnamese and foreigners...I know in some places, foreigners are kind of rude to each other, and locals can be abrasive.

I'd just like to see what you guys have to say.
