I'm sure this has been posted before, but search doesn't seem to work. I was wondering what the best means of getting a visa from the Us would be? |

Naw - not even close.
Visa On Arrival: About 55% cheaper than the Embassies/Consulates and you don't have to pray that your passport makes it to said embassies/consulates AND back safely in the mails...... |

How do you get a visa on arrival from the US?
I know how to do it when leaving from VN and returning from Laos and Thailand, with the letter.
Is this the same from flying into VN from the US?
Or, do you mean something different all-together?
Thanks. |

Sure thing.
Pretty sure it works the same way you've done it before via air from Loas.
For the benefit of those who have never gotten a Visa On Arrival before, generally, I'd recommend Googling "Vietnam Visa On Arrival" and shop around there.
What happens is you'll pay a service charge (anywhere from ten dollars USD to fofty dollars USD) which is basically the agency's profit for having a "good relationship" with the immigration authorities! Try for the ten dollar service fee places.....I've done this five times and quality of service from agency to agency does not vary at all, actually.
You'll pay online with a credit card, then a day or two later, they'll send you a form to fill out and an admission letter (which you'll show to the airline ticket counter when you board your flight). Fill out the form during the flight and, when you land in either Ha Noi Noi Bai of Ho Chi Minh Airport, there's a window just before the immigration inspection lines that'll say "Visa On Arrival". Go there, give them your passport, the form you filled out, your admission letter and a visa stamp fee ($25USD single entry visa / $50 USD multiple entry visa) and you're good!
Thee biggest is a company called MyVietnamVisa dot com....I've used them before, they were fine, but again - there is literally zero difference in the level of service of these agencies, so hunt for the lowest service fee!
Hope this helps..... |
