I heard that public schools in Taiwan are only available to certified teachers. What is the salary like and what are the job conditions like? Anyone have links to any job postings?

Thanks

If you are okay teaching in the more rural parts of Taiwan, you can get away with not having a license if you have a lot of experience. Many recruiters are incompetent and will be unable to sell you to a client if you don't have a license, so you will have to contact the schools directly yourself. There are a few private schools in Taipei that will hire you with a TEFL and experience, but they can't sponsor you. The 61,000 NT is roughly what a new teacher would get, and it is tax free. Some places will pay hourly and tell you your monthly "salary" is 61000, so you need to be very specific about how you ask when and if you interview.

Forgot to add in the part about checking Tealit.com, The job boards on this site, and Forumosa.com. You have to check daily because jobs open and close suddenly.
