Hello All-
I hail from Boston, Ma and will be moving to Koriyama in May. Can anyone provide any advice about the city?
Thanks |

"provide any advice"
Which of those sites offers advice? This person is looking for people who may know the area and can offer insight. I asked a similar question on this forum a few years ago and got some valuable info from other users on the city I was moving to.
Ease up, G. No harm in this question. |

If you're going with Aeon I know a person who worked at the Koriyama branch from March '09 to March '10. I can see if she would be willing to give you some insight. Let me know. |

jcook,
I guess we see "advice" differently. My links give information. Is that not helpful? I guess the OP will have to answer that.
And, what did you provide the OP, by the way? If you want to reply directly to me on this one, use the PM function. |

Never said the sites weren't helpful. And PMing you doesn't let everyone else see that I'm trying to defend a newbie from latent snarkiness. I feel you're very helpful and well-informed, but your tone is a bit harsh at times.
"And, what did you provide the OP, by the way?"
Just letting the OP know the type of question is valid and has worked for others in the past. A lot of users will browse and see a city they lived in when they look at the subject line, and it catches their eye. They can then read and possibly offer advice to newer users. |

Telling me in your way that my links didn't provide "advice" is the snarky thing here. It is a left-handed way of saying they weren't helpful.
And, I never implied that the OP was not a "valid question". You are reading far too much into everyone here. |

I didn't live in Koriyama, but I lived pretty close by. I'd say it's a decent size city, although some people that I knew who worked there complained their location was on the side of the city where nothing was.
I spent a lot of time near the station, so I can't speak for what's further out, but there seems to be plenty to do around the station. Some good food, some movie theaters, snack bars, and the typical like. There's also a place called Round 1, which I guess is some kind of sports chain, where you can go play games or sports. Seems like a lot of people brought dates here, because it was not only for kids, but for young couples too.
I'd say Koriyama is one of the better cities to live in if you are in Fukushima, because most of the prefecture has small cities or countryside, which can be discouraging if you expect more.
There's some firsthand information about some things. Hope that helps. |
