hiya folks,
i've just arrived in HCMC, great buzz to the place and sometimes a tad crazy. but sure thats part & part of the deal.

anyho, wanted to ask what happens in HCMC during TET?, i have the option to stay for it or, do a spot of traveling to get out of the city and return when everything is normal.

trying to sort a teaching position at the mo, but reading other posts and not so sure this is the best time to be here. i realise it picks up again mid march just not sure what to do in the meantime.

regards
jp

Nothing happens...... and by nothing, i mean, nothing.

The days leading to Tet will see everyone that is physically able to descend on Nguyen Hue street to see the flowers. After that, most of the population in HCMC leave for a minimum of a week.

Unless you are involved with a VN amily to experience Tet, the whole thing, for tourists, is a deflating experience.
