So, I found a posting for this school outside of Guadalajara in Zacoalco de Torres. The school is called Mano Lista Institute. The lady contacted me and interviewed me.
Has anyone ever heard of the school? Knows of anyone that has worked there? If I needed to run away how hard would it be to get to Guadalajara?
Thanks in advance. |

Yes, it's close to Guadalajara. I haven't been there yet. I'm going to teach in the Middle East for a year or so, but when I come back I may become involved with this school, possibly as the new assistant director.
From what I can tell, it's a nice little school in a small community, but close enough to Guadalajara to get away on the weekends if one wants to. The school is in the process of growing. |

I have met the owner, Sarah at MEXTESOL events here in Guadalajara. I think it says a lot that she has made the effort to travel and participate in MEXTESOL events.
The school isn't a family concern as dragonlady mentions, but I believe that Sarah is there for love (but I can't say thats true... its my hunch)
Its not far away from GDL and there are regular buses (I don't know how much the bus costs)
I met a couple of the teachers at the MEXTESOL event too and they never said anything negative.
Good luck! |

Her name is Katherin. She just bought the school last year and she's the sole owner; that's my understanding. She does involve herself in MEXTESOL, having been a teacher in the GDL area for about the past 4 years. She responded to a resume I had sent the previous owners, but due to my plans of being out of Mexico, I'm not able to become involved with this school yet. From all she's said, she appears sincere about wanting the grow the school into a quality school and an asset to the community. School owners who are also teachers themselves tend to have a large interest in having a quality school in addition to having a successful business, in my experience. |

Presumably, Katherin is the new owner as of last year. Sarah would've been the previous owner. |
