I just accepted a job in Bangkok and was told "During the 60 days you have here on the tourist visa, we can arrange the paperwork for the non-immigrant B visa."
Is this legal? |

| Errrrrrrr no. But it is common and you are unlikely to face any consequences. |

A decent place will take care of the "B" visa BEFORE you step into the classroom (it only takes a day to get the paperwork ready and a morning trip up to immigration to do the change of status.
Then they whisk off to the labor office and apply for your WP.
NOW you are good to go.
Working before you have your "B" is illegal and although common can land you in hot water if you are not careful. Discretion and common sense are your guide-words.
