Does anyone know of any recruiting companies that place teachers in ESL positions in Russia? I see there are numerous amount of them for positions in Asia ie Korea, China and Japan. |

I'm afraid not, at least not that I know of. I just think there aren't enough schools that are big enough to warrant a recruiting agency; this is almost certainly true outside of Moscow. The work visa situation here is not easy, therefore many schools (including mine) are more than happy to get one native speaker. This really doesn't require a recruiter, what with sites such as this and others. |

Thanks for the information. I was looking for a recruiter to help find a job for me, but important, protect me if the school tries to screw me. |

There are some in the U.K. who recruit teachers for Russia, usually at positions in top International schools in Moscow and the pay and conditions are very good if you are lucky enough to get in,which will mean you fit their rigid specifications about experience and qualifications. Then there are those who advertise positions for what are effectively female governesses for children in elite Russian families which also pay very well,if you fit the bill and can stand working-and often living-with such people!
Have a look at the Expat.ru site under employment/vacancies where I have seen such agencies advertising before.
There was also an agency called Saxon Court in the west-end of London but their vacancies were usually in places like Surgut and not well paid....Just like IH,I got the impression that they were only interested in filling positions and not much about what happened to the people they recruited after they went to work there.... |

Basically, you apply direct to a McSchool if you're a newbie. Once you've got a year's experience, you then apply directly to other schools. |
