|
|
Hi,
This August, I will have been in Japan for a year and thus, my International Drivers License will have expired.
I have heard varied reports on what I have to do next, from taking an expensive test that invariably results in failure on the first occasion, to doing nothing at all.
I am from the UK, which again, I have heard means I am in a better position than those from the US.
Can anybody shed some light on this process?
Thanks,
Rich |

Have you read the FAQ stickies?
You will have to go to the nearest driving center with translations of your UK license, get pictures taken (a booth should be ok, but there may be one on site), and an eye test there. If your license was renewed less than 3 months ago, you'll need translated proof that you have had it (and drove with it in the UK) for that long. |

I don't know, you might be lucky (as you drive on the CORRECT side of the road) as I am from Australia and I didn't did to do any translating or any test as such, just do the paper work and pay some money
just ask them |
