| I've been teaching in China for the past year, and now I intend to make a change in favor of HCMC. I had had a background check done before I arrived in China, but it's been told to me that a year old Background check will do me no good if I want to work in Vietnam. I hope this isn't true. As far as I know, the only way I can have a background check done is if I'm in the U.S. It would be a serious drag if I had to fly all the way back to the States just to get a background check. So is this information accurate, or can I just use the year old one? I would appreciate any incite into this matter. |

Your year-old criminal background check is just fine. But now you'll need a C.B. check from China for the past year, go to your U.S. Embassy/Consulate and explain your dilemma - they should be able to lead you in the proper direction to obtain this from the Chinese government. This will make things current.
I'd do this quickly, if I were you, as I've heard that the Chinese government is a cumbersome bunch!
