Hello. I was thinking of going overseas to teach English with a friend from Sweden. She's a great English speaker and will soon have a teaching degree. But I know a lot of schools don't want non-native English teachers. We're pretty open on where to go. What sort of opportunities are there for us? |

Mexico will give you both a job, no doubt. |

You can rule out LEGAL work in most of Asia (immigration issue).
In many cases you will be able to find work but will be unable to obtain the necessary paperwork to do it legally so you end up being nothing more than an undocumented, illegal migrant without protection or benefit of the law.

It is certainly possible to work in China. I have worked with English teachers from Russia, the Philippines, Holland, Germany, Malaysia, and one from an Eastern European country, can't remember which. They were all here legally with all the right paperwork.
Possible doesn't mean easy, of course, and it might be different for folks from Sweden.
