Hi,
I'm currently based in London but my wife has a conditional offer to study at Oxford Brookes University, so I'm thinking of moving to Oxford in the near future. Could anyone give me any advice/info for finding an EFL teaching role in Oxford?
I received my Trinity CertTESOL in London in December 2010 and have an MA in Linguistics. I've just started doing a few hours a week of cover work here in London, but don't have previous teaching experience.
Regards,
Nicholas |

There are loads of private language schools in Oxford, but I suspect pay and conditions will be grim at most - just take a look at the warnings in some of the threads below on this forum! Your best bet might be to set up as a private tutor with all the well-heeled foreign students in town, though that too may be competitive. Good luck. |

I'm currently teaching in Oxford. It's probably one of the best cities in terms of EFL, though that doesn't mean it's great. Not sure if your Masters will get you any of the things that most EFL teachers don't have, i.e. paid training, planning time, holidays. |
