What is a good procedure for this? Basically moving half way across Japan.
I'm hoping to just box my things myself, and have someone just pick them up, and deliver them to the next place. (Kind of like the CAT service to the airports from anywhere in Japan).
Is there any companies to recommend? Are they national companies, or do I just need to look locally for who does it. Do they supply the boxes, or do I just use whatever boxes I have or find.
How much should I generally expect to pay? Anything else as well? Anyone else have to do something like this? |

I've used Kuroneko Yamato to move boxes from one apartment to another within Tokyo. You have to pick up your own boxes (the post office sells different sizes or maybe your local grocery store could give you a couple) and box up everything yourself.
It's not a prober moving company, but it may be the cheapest way to go if you only have boxes. Anyway, you find pricing information and etc. on their website: http://www.kuronekoyamato.co.jp/english/index.html
Check out Nittsu if you want a real moving company. http://www.nittsu.co.jp/hikkoshi/ |
