I chose Shanghai as I really like it there.

As for your questions

1, I've been to four of the cities on your list and I can tell you that you will see many foreigners in cities like Beijing, shanghai, Hangzhou and Guangzhou - Which I'm sure is no surprise to you.

2, Depending on the salary/ package offered - e.g. 10,000 will go further in a small city than somewhere like Beijing or Shanghai (where you would struggle) also it depends if they offer accommodation as well.

3, Again smaller cities as in the bigger ones foreigners are no big deal.

4, The big cities have everything - I used to work in a small town which had no bars (only KTV's) and no foreign food (including Indian/Thai/ Japanese etc..) so it really depends on how small you go.

5, Most big/ medium cities have good transportation it's the smaller ones that you will struggle with.
