Howdy all you wonderful veterans.
I'm an ADEC LT, finishing my second year in high school English-I'd say quite successfully. I'm definitely staying in the UAE for the next few years, but I'm looking into other opportunities.
Right now I'm about to apply for two positions. One is at a college as an assistant lecturer, the other is as a teacher adviser with ADEC.
My question is what would be a good starting salary to request.
I currently have 5 years experience (2 of them here) and a master's degree in education.
I want to get 20,000-25,000/mo if I'm going to consider it a step up. (I currently make 15,400, still waiting on the promised yearly increase)
Am I too high or too low in my expectations? I've never had to negotiate a salary before, but the application asks for an "expected salary."
