Do you get paid for holidays? Is this common or not? I have been offered a contract that seems pretty good, but does not pay for holidays and am not sure what the usual is for this....
Thanks! |

what kind of school is it and what holidays do they pay you for?
our school pays for all holidays. if you stay from year to year total holiday time off checks in at 4.5 months per year. dont expect this if you wind up at a private language mill where they like to work you to the bone. |

I work for a private language mill and get paid for a 14 day Sping Festival, 10 days for National Day, but not paid for the 14 day Summer Holiday. |

I've worked at two places since coming to China 3 years ago and all my holidays have been paid.
The first employer gave me 2 weeks in the summer and 2 weeks at spring festival plus the other Chinese holidays (dragon boat festival etc..). My current employer gives me two weeks in the summer and 7 days in spring plus 10 days of my choice and dragon boat festival etc....
I wouldn't take a job that didn't offer paid holidays. |

I work for a uni that bites the wax tadpole.
BUT since I got here I have had 6 ( maybe 7) weeks of paid holidays.
It takes the bitterness away a little. |

Being paid for the summer holiday of almost 2 months (in the public system) may depend on whether you renew for a further year.
You really have to be more precise when asking questions about pay and conditions.
'Do you get paid for holidays?' isn't taking this forum seriously. |
