Hey all-

My wife and I are looking to work in a summer camp in Hong Kong beginning May-June. We each have over two years experience, myself with a BA and her with a college diploma. Could any of the old pro's shed some light on how it works in Hong Kong? Any recommendations? In general, paid airfare?

Any and all help would be appreciated. Thanks-

May-June seems too early to me - summer hols kick in early/mid July. The Brit Council is a big summer employer in July/August.

I think it would be very unlikely to find a job that pays airfares just for a summer school position - that perk normally only comes with a two (occasionally one) year contract. British Council is pretty strict about its teachers having proper ESL qualifications.
I'm possibly missing something, but my experience is that most of the English language summer camps run in Hong Kong tend to be organised by faith-based (principally Christian) groups and teachers are expected to pay their own way.

If you're prepared to look at China mainland for opportunities, then you could check out the Amity Foundation (also Christian-run, but no religious content in its language teaching) which runs lots of different summer classes. Again, classes wouldn't be starting until late July/ August, and you would be expected to pay your own fares.
