|

OK,yes I know, this is a well worked area of discussion.
But if someone took an offer from HCT.
What would be the best place to work as far as conditions.
I kinda like the idea of Al Ain as I like rather quiet second cities
but only really want to be left alone to do my job.
You can PM me if you want.
Every Day
I am Mr K

You don't get to choose - you are asked if you have a preference - has always been that way. Your preference usually has little bearing on where you are placed unless they have several candidates acceptable to various campuses |

helen1 is right... your preferences are way below their needs. It is highly likely that most teachers do NOT get their preference nowadays. I think this will especially be true now that teachers are trying to escape Abu Dhabi... it will have high needs with no one with knowledge of the system asking to be located there.

Thanks HL and VS
.........but bearing that in mind and trusting to
luck of the draw what would be the the places to consider and those avoid.
I know there are many changes at the moment regarding HCT. But if all went well it would be good to know which places are worth considering.
Hip Hip Hooray!!!

The most recent reviews in would suggest avoid ADW (and by proximity ADM - the closer you are to the VCs office the more knee jerk the managment), Al Ain and Sharjah (both campuses), there have been grumblings from Fujairah (both campuses) and possibly RAK. Which ones does that leave? |

And then everyone hates the commute. But it is conveniently far from to management and has good branch management.
These days no one is really happy. Probably the Dubai branches are OK... some are coping at RAK, Al-Ain, and even Sharjah. Abu Dhabi is a disaster, and Fujairah got all those unhappy UAEU transfers.
It's getting harder and harder to recommend any of them.

"It's getting harder and harder to recommend any of them."
No, it's become impossible to recommend any of them, I would say.
Most of the time-served HCTers I know in AD are already looking for ways out, and it's just a matter of time until the right vacancies arise elsewhere - either in the Gulf or further afield.
It's a real shame that what was once an excellent place to work at has become so very 'bottom-of-the-barrel' in just a few years, all thanks to Dr TK. |

That is the problem with inside jokes and adolescent management nicknames. It just confuses the people here with questions.

Hey! I don't come up with them. I just apply them when appropriate.

Yes, I know that you didn't create it. But, I don't find this public board to be an appropriate place. Leave it to the attack blogs where they can use their puerile little nicknames all they want.

Fair 'nuff. However, Mr. K, you've been fairly informed. I'm partial to you and don't want you falling into the same quagmire as I did.
However, as VS intimates, probably better left to the PM function. |
