Hello,
I am 22 and I realize I will probably take a job with NOVA or another of the big 4 if I get it, but I still like to keep my parents happy.
My dad suggests going through contacts instead of say applying to places over the internet. I have no real contacts. I am about to graduate from college and the only person I could think to talk to would be a dean from my boarding school from when I was younger who had some students come over from Korea and Japan.
If any of you understand my situation... can you think of something I could do to make this more official in the eyes of my parents? Going through some well known business or organization... I don't know. All I am going to have is a diploma from the Business school and no teaching experience/certification.
Any help is appreciated. I know this is a funny request to many of you around my age who put more trust in the internet than people 30 years our senior (like my dad).

Tell your father that the big four eikaiwas are named that appropriately. They each have hundreds of branch office throughout the country. It's very much like McDonalds in that respect. How much more well-known can you get?
If you have no other contacts, that's about all you have to go on. Your dean will only give you / your father the same company names as we will.
Show him the web sites.
Show him the recruiting schedule in your country, along with any brochures that are available. |
