The other day I stumbled upon a story about a California guy who wound up dead after he was involved in a dispute with his boss, who was apparently a sleazy training school owner. Here's a link to the story:

I vaguely remember reading about this when it happened although I wasn't in China at the time. Anybody here familiar with this? Anybody know the guy?

don't remember either of those.

but i do recall a couple years back, an american engrish
teacher was killed by an elephant at a nature park in
xishuangbanna. didn't want to pay the entrance fee
so he jumped the fence after closing.

teaching seems to be a dangerous profession.

Yeah bro, teaching is a dangerous profession. One of my friends, who was also an English teacher, decided to get really drunk and go start a fight in a foreigner bar with a Chinese man. Things were going well for him - he was really beating the crap out of the Chinese man - when the man's three friends decided to smash a liquor bottle over the back of his head and stomp him for several minutes until the bouncers broke it up. He suffered lots of bruising on his face and several broken ribs.

Yup, teaching is a dangerous profession.
