Dave... assuming that you are male... your roommates will have to be male. Is this your first gig in the Middle East?
The people who help you are most likely to be your employers and/or fellow teachers. The employer should put you up in one of the hotels for the first week or two.

| DW, if you are single and male I would suggest you avoid Nizwa and Oman. China, Korea, Taiwan....these places all pay reasonably well, and you can get a gf...unless you are looking to taste the forbidden fruits of the middle east like other male FT's then the water is warm enough for swimming:) |
