Hey Everyone,
I recently got a gig doing some online teaching while I complete my Master's Thesis for my degree, and am interested in a short-term relocation to Thailand to make the most of my money.
I'd like to set up somewhere on Phuket, as I understand the surfing can be quite good there during the summer months. I was wondering if anyone has suggestions about a place I can set up, or just direct me to a good source of info for expats?
I realize this may not be the best place to ask for such information, but I figured some other people on this board might be doing something similar so they'd have some good feedback. |

If you can function with internet speeds of 500kbps - 1mbps up stream then it is easy to find a place in Phuket town or over at Patong beach.
If you need faster than that then you are out of luck in most of the country.

I tried to teach online in Phuket in 2009. It was a disaster, as I had major problems with the internet connection and ended up having to leave Phuket. I did not find it stable enough then but things may have changed. The level of network support was also useless. I think you would need to get a business line which is more expensive. |

Thanks for the info. Did you wind up in Bangkok, or were you able to find another place? |
