optimistic -- welcome to enshallah.
Fear not - enshallah is often a prelude to YALLA YALLA (usually said emphatically) --- and you'll be en route to sandyland at whiplash speed. |

Since we don't know the employer, it is hard to give you a definite answer. They may be stringing you along... just in case they might need you. Or they could be just waiting for official permission... or the budget to be passed... or whatever.
I'd wait a bit longer before asking again... consider it practice for dealing with the local bureaucracy. If possible, have a back-up offer just in case...

Oh dear, you ARE optimistic, aren't you! No good teacher should be hanging on the phone or inbox waiting for the magic word to drop in their ear, in my view.
It's much better to line up two or three jobs and then select the best offer that comes - and there might only be one firm offer in the end. I've always done this, and although it involves a lot more work, it pays dividends.
Before I came to AD I had interviewed and been 'accepted' for two other jobs in Dubai and Oman. In the end, I received two firm offers in one week, accepted them both, and then thought about it over the weekend.
So I had to turn one down after verbally accepting. I appreciate that some people might find this a little 'unprofessional', but that's an unknown concept in the Gulf. It also means that somebody else got to take a place when they might have been otherwise rejected. Seems like 'win-win' for the teachers to me!
So keep yer finger in as many pies as possible, and get the best for yourself - it's the only way to go! Just waiting for the right word from one potential employer is not the best way to further your career. |
