Hey i'm a british citizen and looking to stay in Taiwan for a few months. I'm not planning on working. I know i'm entitled to stay 90 days with my passport so i'm just wondering what the process is for tourist visa?

Do I need to apply for anything beforehand, or just on landing? Any advice would be appreciated.

thanks

p.s. I also don't have a flight booked out of Taiwan yet, i hope that won't be a huge problem?

Ummm...

I'm really puzzled by this post.

You don't plan to work.

You can get 90 days without a visa just by coming with your passport and an onward ticket.

Why the heck would you want a visitor visa, which costs a fair bit of cash?

If you were planning to work, then yes, a visitor visa (applied for beforehand in an ROC consulate or embassy outside of Taiwan) would be helpful, as it would give you a visa status so that you could extend to a work visa without leaving Taiwan.

However, since you do not plan to work, I fail to see the point in doing this.

Please clarify.
