I've heard of Americans with bachelors and MBA degrees working as assistant or associate professors of business at Bilkent University. I'll be completing my MBA in July, have a 1-month TEFL certification and have 2 years ESL-teaching experience in China and Costa Rica. I'm looking to head abroad again and would love an opportunity like this to combine both my teaching experience and business knowledge.

My brother-in-law visited Bilkent as part of an undergrad interim class trip, heard that they hire American business grads for professorships and suggested I look into them.

Has anyone had experience with Bilkent? What is their reputation? What should I know?

Hi,

I am a senior student at Bilkent. It is true that a lot of Americans and Canadians with a BA or MA teach at Bilkent and they are paid very well. But most of the time, they are hired to teach academic English. I am a literature student so I don't know much about how things work in Business Administration. Just try sending an e-mail to the head of the department or one of the instructors there. I am sure they will send a reply immediately. But you need to hurry a litle bit if you want to start teaching next semester as the application period will not last long.
