I promise that I will do my own research, but some of the recent threads on health care have prompted me to ask y'all for your own experiences.
Have any of you had (or know anyone who has had) eye surgery in Japan? I've got these little scars on my eyeballs that I really want removed, and laser surgery is the only way to go. The thing is that the thought of lasers, or anything else, for that matter, getting within a 10-foot radius of my eyes just makes me nauseous. Add to that the whole being in a foreign country factor, and the whole things makes me want to pass out. (I've got an "eye thing.")
Any anecdotes?

I haven't had surgery, but I used to teach an eye surgeon private lessons for two years. The student had amazing English skill and was one of the few people I've met in my life who could be called a genius. He never had a bad surgury. When I stopped teaching him a year and a half ago he was about to add a lasor surgury center to his hospital. He was already qualified to do it.
His hospital is located in Utsunomiya, Tochigi. It's called Noka Eye Clinic. |
