After receiving some great replies to my post on "Resumes when you have no teaching experience", it hit me like a hammer that I should be exploiting my tech skills for more lucrative opportunities.

I realize that getting a "tech job" is not a possibility because of my lack of ability in Japanese. That said, I'm hoping there is a way to get a better ESL position (better location / pay / hours, or a combination) before I arrive in Japan, because of my tech skills. I would be on a WHV because I do not have a degree (3 year diploma).

Keeping that in mind, can anyone offer insight into the following?
1. Are there schools looking for geek-speak ESL teachers?
2. Is there a market among Gaijin for english speaking techs?
3. What are my best options?

Other than finding an opportunity requiring geek speak before I get to Japan, I was going to offer my services to other Gaijin. I figure it would be a great way to make pocket change and meet some friends at the same time.

Thanks folks!
