Has anyone actually been contacted and successfully gained work after posting their resume on this site? |

Do you mean posting your CV to company listings found on this site, or simply posting your CV and waiting?
I've just joined the site and started replying to job postings myself, but I can tell you I've gotten answers back from the recruiters/posters.
I doubt you'd get any response by simply uploading your CV then sitting back and waiting. There are too many of us.

From simply posting a resume and waiting = NO.
Posting a resume and then looking at the stuff recruiters have send back = I have had offers (but not accepted them for various reasons).
Posting / responding to job ads = yes, I have gained employment directly that way from this site.

NOpe, not from posting my CV. THink of it this way. If you were an employer would you rather sift through CVs on a site, the majority of which aren't teachers who want to work for you, but just want a job? Or post your advert, sit back and have them email you their CVs? |

I have not posted my resume here.
I answered an ad, though, and got hired. |

I posted my resume here once but got flooded with language institute offers from China/Korea and pulled it. However, I did receive two job offers from ads I answered that I accepted. One was with a company in Saudi and the other a university in Korea.

I got both my jobs in China from applying to positions on the China job board.
When I posted my CV I was flooded with Nigerians asking to use my bank account to store millions |

Curious if that was your first job in Japan. And did you apply from your home country?
I'm wary of accepting a job sight unseen (site unseen? both seem to make sense). |

Yes, that was my very first TEFL job.
I applied from the U.S.
They actually came to Seattle to interview candidates. Quite rare, but they had the money to spend on it.
Sight unseen is a bit scary, yes. At least in my case, I got to see the staff lieutenant and got all of my questions answered. They provided a floorplan of the apartment, too.
One of the other 3 teachers who worked there paid a visit to Seattle, too, just to see family, so I had a chance to meet him and go over things before shipping out.
If you have questions about certain aspects of any interviews, post them here, and people will give advice. |

My very first job many many moons ago was from this site (Japan).
I have been loyal ever since.
A lot of friends have also gained meaningful employment from this site.
Good luck. |
