Grammar and Vocabulary.
Excuse me while I giggle uncontrollably (is that a word? I can't find it in my dictionary. Maybe I'm pulling a Bush?).

Do not mis-underestimate the canniness of George W. He is trying to be an ordinary man of the people, like Ronald Reagan. It doesn't do to appear too smart to the American voter. Bill Clinton was quite successful at appearing slow and folksy. It's a big act for Bush too. (I think). Or maybe not?

Khmerhit, you are correct...George "Dubya" Bush is great at the whole "man of the people" act. In reality, he was born in New Haven, Connecticut (not Texas, although he did spend a large part of his childhood there), went to prep school in New England, and was educated at both Yale and Harvard! "Man of the people" my arse! He sure has fooled a lot of people though. Sadly, these middle class "NASCAR dads" and Christian Conservatives that love him the most are probably the individuals being hurt the most by his domestic and economic policies. Also, for the most part, it is the family members of these groups of Americans that are getting killed daily in Iraq. At least their deaths aren't in vain and the world is a "safer place" now |

Have you considered the scarier scenario - WHAT IF
he's not faking!!!
WHAT IF his family connections bought him into the universities.........and
out of Vietnam.... Does this kind of stuff happen in the real world?
In any case, my advanced students were wildly amused by the Bushisms (or pretended politely to be, at least) |

Remember that time when Bush went on national TV and referred to Pakistanis as "Pakis"! The guy is either education sub-normal or playing a game that we are unaware of. Surely the president of the most important country in the world can't be that stupid ... can he? |

Bush is an easy target. I'm an American and the kind that loves his stars and stripes. I know there are folks out there who can't appreciate that, but I sure do. Bush is a down home boy. Apple pie, ice cream, and a couple a Pakis to hang with; is there a problem? No. It's just Bush. A return to some sense instead of the ole' livberal jibe!

I'm an American too. But Bush is one of the most corrupt presidents in the history of the U.S. Look at Haiti. Bush sends Aristide to a tiny little country in Africa where no one can question him about the events. Luckily some persistent journalists pulled Aristide and the truth is out. Little by little the domination of special interests over our fine little democracy is seeping out. The internet is producing too many independent journalists to keep the lid on things. It seems like the paint chips falling from the White House ceiling are starting to get bigger and bigger, and I mean for both parties, thanks to the new foundingfathers, the developers of the internet. As for Bush, continue to lay it on thick, boys. |

I printed out the grammar mistakes page of Bushisms and gave it to my students(Level 3-Pre-Intermediate) THEY found all the errors. The idea of any of them as president of the US is really frightening |
