Have just received my contract from Hail to sign and send back but there`s no mention of the 15% living allowance they said I`d get.
I`ve contacted them many times but they don`t reply.
Can anyone tell me if this has always been the case?
It sounds like I`ll be living off campus so I guess it`ll be where the teachers have lived before which sounds ok from what I`ve read here, but
are they shared or single? Are there any facilities on the compound? |

In my contract the information on accomodation is in paragraph 4 after the salary. Check yours.

Just ignore my previous post, I now see that I didn't answer your question.
I was sent a contract to my parents' address last week WITHOUT AN INTERVIEW and I don't know if I should take this seriously.
Then I got a phone message from them asking if I wanted the visa authorization sent to Ottawa or Morocco-- WTF?
Any ideas?

For both instances above, nefarious machinations such as these spell two adjectives and one noun: Blazing. Red. Alert. |

Your perusal of threads relating to recruitment agencies representing the interests of Hail U shall reveal all. Exhaustive perusal, if you please. Go ahead, take your time.
In short, is the offer direct from the U, or via an agency? If the latter, my previous post applies. |

Hmmm, an unsolicited offer forwarded sans interview. I received similar via scanned attachment last year from a Hail U agent of infamy who eventually admitted to his participation in visa scams.
Your close research will indicate whether the phone and fax numbers, or email address, or other contact identifiers within the document truly represent Hail U.
Cutting now to the quick, so to speak, if the offer is typeset in one language only, fold lengthwise and neatly insert into File 13.
PM to me if necessary. |

Sheikher... this sounds like the scams that are all over for the UAE jobs. Is this one of those?
Are they scamming people for money?
Receiving a contract with no interview sounds immediately like a scam.

I agree, but it does happen.
Some years ago I got an email from a fairly well-known and reputable KSA university, saying that they had received my CV (in fact I'd forgotten I'd even sent it, since it had been so long ago and I never heard anything from them), they would like me to join them next month and could I send off my passport details to apply for the visa? No interview, no nothing. I don't think this kind of procedure, or lack thereof, is all that rare in KSA, though it's become rather more unusual among reputable employers.
Nor is it rare to find it next to impossible to contact your prospective employers, especially during the summer months when many admin staff will be on holidays.
Back to the OP, what is a '15% living allowance'? Do you mean housing allowance? |

PMed info indicates no agency interloped. How very fortuitous!
Bilingual contract consistent with Labor law Article 9. Skype interview evidently pending. Appears to be legit.

I have been working for UoH for since last December and I have been getting that 15% with my salary all the time although it is not mentioned on my contract paper. Everyone gets it (not sure for those who works via agencies) |

That`s what I was hoping, thanks.
If you`re working there, could you also tell us what facilities you`ve got where you`re living - shop, gym, pool??
Do single status usually get their own place? |

Since the U of H is a governmental org. then it can send visas almost anywhere. You should worry when a private org or a contractor says it can send you a visa to where ever you are (except for country of passport) then you will probably get a business visit visa or something less than a full work/employment visa. |

Anyone considering working for Hail should pull out a map before they sign on the dotted line.
Hail is out in the middle of nowhere in probably the most conservative sector of an already overly conservative KSA. |
